Landowners can contact the Office of Farmland Preservation for more information on donating agricultural easements. An agricultural easement will forever keep the land in agricultural production and for that reason can be a tool for landowners who wish to protect their family farm from development.
Potential donations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, as certain legal requirements must be met in order for an agricultural easement to be placed on a property. Landowners should check with their financial advisor regarding tax benefits that may be associated with easement donations.
Landowners interested in other programs offered by the Office of Farmland Preservation, please see the Clean Ohio Agricultural Easement Purchase Program and Agricultural Security Areas (ASA) for more information.
Landowners and local partners interested in the AEDP are encouraged to review the AEDP Guidelines below and contact the Office of Farmland Preservation for more information.
Documents available are to provide information and reference templates required to secure easements for all landowners.
