ADDL Participates in Ohio ASF Response Plan Workshop

The Ohio Pork Council, Ohio Department of Agriculture, United States Department of Agriculture, and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine hosted a virtual 3-day workshop focusing on Ohio's African Swine Fever (ASF) response plan. The workshop provided opportunities to learn about and discuss:

- Response Triggers & Diagnostic Lab Capability (Dr. Susan Skorupski, USDA, Dr. Dennis Summers, ODA, Melanie Prarat, ODA)

- Sampling and Surveillance (Dr. Steve Wilden, USDA)

- Depopulation (Dr. Andrew Bowman, OSU)

- Carcass Disposal (Dr. Steven Moeller, OSU, Lori Miller, USDA)

- Continuity of Business, Secure Pork Supply, Permitting (Dr. Andreia Arruda, OSU, Dr. David Frew, ODA)

- Data Management (Dr. Roger Krogwold, USDA)

Scenario-guided group discussions and breakout groups offered ample opportunities for attendees to further discuss all topics.
