The division works with county and city weights and measures programs to provide training and assistance.
The division test devices ranging from vehicle tank meters, bulk rack meters, LPG meters and vehicle, livestock, railway scales for consistent measuring standards.
Ohio administers one of only four National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) laboratories in the nation, which tests and evaluates new scale designs and technology.
Ohio administers a National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST) recognized laboratory, which is also accredited to the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP), (NVLAP), Lab Code 200420-0. Ohio's Metrology Laboratory tests and evaluates customer standards.
Device Permit Registration for Vehicle, Livestock and Railway Scales as well as Vehicle Tank, Bulk Rack and LPG Meters.
Registered Serviceperson and Agency is a Mandatory program in Ohio to perform any type service to a commercial device.
Package Checking Program is ensuring the proper amounts are being delivered and the business is compensated properly for that amount.
Price Verification is to ensure that if a price is posted it is accurate. Unit Price Posting is not required in Ohio however if it is used it must be correct.
