An updated version of form NPMA-33, the wood destroying insect (WDI) inspection form created by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) became available January 1, 2020. This form replaces all previous versions of the form, and only this current version may be used. The NPMA-33 form is the accepted WDI inspection form for HUD, FHA, VA and conventional real estate transactions. There are some minor changes contained in the new form, including about how the new form must be completed:

  • Signs of previous treatment are no longer required to be documented in Section II of the form
  • Signs of previous treatment are now required to be recorded in Section V of the form
  • Paragraph (G) in the updated rule is the requirements for Section V of the form

The Ohio Department of Agriculture has updated the administrative rule that provides instruction on completion of the new NPMA-33 form in Ohio. The rule takes effect on January 17, 2020. All WDI inspections for real estate transactions in Ohio must comply with the new rule, Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 901:5-11-13.
