Special Safety Updates For Ohio

Food Processing Businesses

January 22, 2021

Keeping Ohio Fed During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Slowing the spread of COVID-19 in homes, businesses and schools throughout Ohio is a top priority. The Ohio Department of Agriculture will be providing regular outreach to share the latest health and safety tips and details on upcoming pop-up testing locations in Ohio. Please share and promote these resources with your staff.

COVID-19 Health and Safety Reminders

Ohio has started distributing COVID-19 vaccines statewide. With limited supply and high demand, state officials will follow a phased approach to vaccine administration. In the first vaccination phase, priority was given to individuals at the highest risk, as well as essential healthcare workers and personnel caring for COVID-19 patients. Currently, vaccine administration is focused on senior citizens, those with certain medical conditions and school staff. The speed at which Ohio will move through the distribution phases is largely dependent upon the number of vaccine doses available. As supply increases, COVID-19 vaccines will be available to all Ohioans who choose to be vaccinated.

The distribution plans for future priority groups are still under development.  We look forward to sharing details about the vaccination plans for agriculture and food supply chain workers once those decisions are made.
