Mary Anne's Meats Issues Voluntary Recall of Weidle's Smoked Sausage

LEXINGTON, Ohio (July 16, 2020) – Mary Anne’s Meats, LLC of Lexington, OH announces a voluntary recall of approximately 72 pounds of Weidle’s Smoked Garlic Sausage due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. Specifically, the product contains milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. 

The Weidle’s Smoked Garlic sausage is paper wrapped in various weights and contains pack on dates of 07/10/20, 07/11/20, or 07/16/20. The product was offered for sale through the retail case at Mary Anne’s Meats, located at 38 Church Street West, Lexington, Ohio 44904.

This problem was discovered by the establishment owner, Mary Anne Kettering, when providing a label to Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) Division of Meat Inspection (DMI) personnel for a routine Big 8 Formulation Verification task. 
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider. 

ODA routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that product is no longer available to consumers.
