David Miran is the Executive Director of ODA’s Hemp Program. In this capacity he oversees daily operations, which allows Ohio farmers to gain access to the burgeoning hemp industry, helps law enforcement officers distinguish legal hemp from illegal marijuana, and ensures that all hemp products manufactured in Ohio are safe for human and animal consumption.
Prior to his current role, David served for six years in the department’s Office of Chief Legal Counsel. There he provided legal representation for nearly all the department’s divisions, offices, and programs. In addition, he specialized in legislative analysis and the drafting and review of all the department’s administrative code rules.
David is originally from Rochester, New York where he grew up working in his family’s hot dog business. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University and Capital University Law School. He and his wife reside in Columbus.
