Cathy Corbitt serves as Deputy Director of Children’s Initiatives at the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Her responsibilities include bringing healthy fresh food education and awareness to our youth. She will also be responsible for connecting the agricultural community with education partners and community programs.
Corbitt previously worked as the 21st Century grant coordinator, which is a federally funded program, for Jonathan Alder Schools. She was responsible for creating and developing afterschool programming for at-risk kids. During this time, she partnered with the OSU extension office to incorporate 4-H programs and physical fitness.
Prior to working in education, she was 13-year marketing director for Big Lots Corporation. Her role included managing a multi-million dollar advertising budget and developing marketing campaigns to 1,400 stores across the country.
Cathy grew up on an Ohio Century dairy farm in Mercer County. She is a graduate of Coldwater High School and Eastern Kentucky University where she earned a degree in marketing. She has also completed her school treasurer classes at the University of Dayton. Corbitt currently lives in Union County with her husband and two sons.
