Brian Wise is Chief of the Dairy Division for the Ohio Department of Agriculture, overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensure safe, wholesome dairy products for the consumer. Brian joined ODA in 2003 as a Sanitarian Program Specialist. He was promoted to the Dairy Farm Section Head within the division in 2007, Assistant Chief in 2012 and appointed Chief in 2019.
Growing up in the heart of Amish country, Brian helped on his grandpa’s dairy farm near Baltic, Ohio, and showed dairy cattle in 4-H. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering from The Ohio State University.
Brian currently is the voting delegate for Ohio with the National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments (NCIMS), is Vice-Chair of Council 1 and serves on the Technical Engineering Review Committee of the NCIMS. In addition, Brian is the chair of the Atlantic Midwest Dairy Equipment Review Committee.
