Fertilizer - Fertilizer Secondary Containment Construction

Secondary containment systems are required when over 5,000 gallons of liquid fertilizer is stored for more than 30 days. Plans and specifications for the containment system must be submitted, along with the application, stating the dimensions of the system, the wall height of the system, the total number of storage tanks with the height, diameter and capacity of each storage tank and the distance each tank is from the walls of the system.

The design requirements for bulk liquid fertilizer storage are available in Rule 901:5-2-03 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
