The one-time application fee for a Permit to Install (PTI) is $2,250 payable to the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
The fee for a Permit to Operate (PTO) is $1,000 payable to the Ohio Department of Agriculture. A Permit to Operate is valid for five years, before which a renewal application must be submitted and approved.
The fee for a Permit to Operate renewal is $1,000.

The rules addressing the minimum required setback distances for a proposed manure storage structure at a CAFF can be found in Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 901:10-2-02. A Permit to Install submitted for a fabricated structure storing solid manure must demonstrate that the proposed structure is located at least 500 feet from a neighboring residence and 100 feet from a property line. A Permit to Install submitted for a fabricated structure storing liquid manure must demonstrate that the proposed structure is located at least 1,000 feet from a neighboring residence and 100 feet from a property line. A Permit to Install submitted for an earthen structure (pond or lagoon) storing liquid manure must demonstrate that the proposed structure is located at least 1,000 feet from a neighboring residence and 100 feet from a property line.
